Unquestionably one of nature's most beautiful stones, marble is a form of limestone with beautiful patterns and variety of colours. Marble is very suitable for bathrooms, fireplaces, flooring and walls. Being more porous than granite, if you are planning to use marble in your kitchen, you will need to take greater care. Sealing is recommended.

Travertine

See all Travertine here »

A natural stone formed around waterfalls and hot or cold springs. Travertine is a banded, compact variety of limestone. It is characterized by pitted holes and troughs in its surface. These troughs occur naturally. Some people fill these holes with grout, whereas others leave them open. Travertine can even be purchased "filled" or "unfilled." It comes in a variety of colours from grey to coral-red. Travertine can be polished, honed, brushed or hammered depending on the use and preference. Roman Empire constructed the Collosseum largely from travertine, which is the largest building constructed with this beautiful stone. Others large buildings are Sacre-Coeur Basilica in Paris and the Getty Center in Los Angeles, California.

A beautiful stone composed of Calcium Carbonate. It is widely used in bathrooms and for flooring and often comes with fossils embedded in it.
